Geradeeben
online - 2021
Contemporary music and free improvisation often have similar aesthetics. However, the improviser decides the nature and the precise moment when he will play a sound. The energy of an improvised concert is born in the "here and now". We want to let the freedom that fascinates us in improvisation flow into new music.

Through performative, sometimes fantasists interpretations, we want to break down the rigidity often associated with contemporary music. By giving great importance to the scenic aspect, we make our musical explorations more transparent.

In our project Geradeeben, we want to think further about these two approaches. The two existing works by Georges Aperghis and Urban Mäder deal with this in different ways. In addition, the two composers Michal Muggli and Anda Kryeziu, who have also been working with performance and free improvised music for a long time, have each written a new work for us.
